Peak Time for Fall Leaves in Jasper, Arkansas: 2025
Fall is rolling into the Ozarks, and with it comes the big question: “When will the leaves hit their peak color?“ According to this year’s Fall Foliage Prediction Map from The Smoky Mountain Region, the Ozarks are expected to reach peak fall color around October 28th, 2025. (However, this can change quickly depending on weather!) In 2024, peak color landed closer to October 20th, and with the wetter summer we’ve had this year, locals are betting we might see vibrant leaves lingering a little longer. For the best chance, plan your visit to Jasper between October 15th – November 3rd. Check out our current Fall leaf conditions below, which is updated weekly.

Current Fall Leaf Conditions: As of September 10th, 2025 it is still very early. Only a few leaves are beginning to fall, most notably from Black Walnut trees, which are always the first to go. They turn a nice bright yellow tone, but they don’t stay on the tree very long! No other trees in Jasper are noticeably turning just yet. The estimated color change at this time is: Less than 5%. Check back weekly for fresh updates on the leaves.

Other top picks: Scenic Point, 3 miles south of Jasper, where a quick walk up the wooden lookout tower rewards you with breathtaking panoramic views. Koen Experimental Forest, 3 miles north of Jasper, which offers a paved interpretive trail showcasing over 30 species of trees and plants bursting with autumn color. Great if you are looking for a wheelchair accessible trail that everyone can enjoy.
